Installation On-site June 4th:
This Body is a Play Thing
“This Body is a Play Thing” is an interactive sound art installation made in response to its sister piece, “Disembodiment”, which was about abuse and harm done to those around us. This project focuses on the variations of the word “play” and positive interactions with bodies instead.

Cacophony Sublime
Installation On-site June 4th
Using a vibrating/bouncing platform I want to have 3-5 linear steel sculptures bouncing and bumping against each other creating their own chance sounds while serenaded with an electronic looped sound track. They will be brightly projected upon with an LCD projector to create dancing shadows. Sounds will accentuate the visual conversation. I again work with my nephew, (a sound editor/manufacturer) on an electronic, crazy track to accompany the visuals.

Performance On-site June 4th:
the stone and the shred
In this piece, a stone is allowed to drift down the strings of an electric guitar.

A guitar is placed in front of a distorted amplifier as a means of producing feedback. The body of the guitar is elevated so the neck of the instrument is diagonal to the floor. The performer places EBows on two strings, tuned a natural seventh apart.

Installation On-site June 4th:
Heavy Metal Machine
Heavy Metal Machine is a sculptural installation that highlights the ever presence of sound in our world by acting both as a sound prism, reacting in realtime to changes in its surrounding environment. It offers an opportunity to be hyper present in moments of chaos and harmony.

Mundane ambient noise - the rhythm of passing footsteps, the white noise of automobiles in the background, birds conversing in a tree canopy, the chatter of children - all become source code for this closed circuit system.
