Hani Choir
Recorded in A-Zha-He Rice Terraces in Hong-He Region of Yunnan.
Hani People who live there used to sing together when working, gathering and living in the field. Their sound mixed with the nature and their vocal change with certain landscape.
Now, while the Rice Terraces vanish, their life style changes, and the Hani Choir is disappearing.

Miser

Performance On-site June 3rd:
Dymaxion Final Assembly
Durational installation performance for 2 technicians working at 2 workstations which face each other in the center of the space. The technicians refer to an infographic board with work instructions to be carried out over the duration of the performance. Tools and workpieces used by the technicians are sound creating devices, each connected to its own amplifying unit, positioned in the space and color-coded for clarity.

Mélissa Lavabre

UnƧightly [Sound Poetry] online Nov 19th:
As Méli(ssa) Lava(bre)
Fatiguée
Seeking to convey my state of tiredness through sound itself rather than meaning, while actually using a word that DOES mean "tired" - "fatiguée" - but ridding it of its conventional use, making that irrelevant (I could just as well have repeated the word "pumpkin" or most any sequence of phonemes) to only express its sensation in my body.

Discourse on Sound Poetry - Part 2
Part 2 of 4 of Discourse on Sound Poetry in sound poem form.

Matt LeVeque

Installation On-site June 3rd:
chorus for one
"chorus for one" is a sound performance piece in which 6 Honeytone mini-amps and 6 contact microphones are affixed to, respectively, the torso and hands of the performer. Using arm, hand, and upper body gestures, the performer produces sound via multiple high-pitched feedback loops between the microphones and amps.

Soundscapes [audio tracks] On-site June 3rd and online June 11th:
Antología liquen / Lichen anthology
This sound essay is my take on the concept of holobiont proposed by Lynn Marulis. We are, were, will be bodies ecosystems lichen. Symbiosis: I record the sounds I make with my mouth when speaking and mix them in different frequencies with radio static. Resounding symbionts entangle opening a gap through which an infinity of possible worlds emerge. Cacophony, chaos, flow: it’s impossible to know if I’m one or a multitude.
